Linus Hensen mit starker Premiere in KZ-Königsklasse
A Mach1 Motorsport quartet took part in the season finale of the German Kart Championship in Wackersdorf, Bavaria, last weekend. In the best late summer conditions, the German kart manufacturer’s squad duel brilliantly and caused a stir: Linus Hensen started in the DKM for the first time and left a lasting impression with ninth place in the final.
The last and sixth event of the German Kart Championship was waiting for numerous drivers in the Bavarian Pro Kart Raceland last weekend. More than 200 participants made for a record-breaking starting field and lived up to the name of the championship. In bright sunshine, the Mach1 Motorsport teams Wilk and Kartschmie.de advanced to the final attack of the season and gave full throttle on the 1,197 meter long course.
In the X30 Juniors, Ben Fritz took the steering wheel for the first time as part of the DKM. The youngster has gained his experience in the SAKC so far and initially had to get used to the new environment. After the heats, Ben was ranked 30th and got better and better on Sunday. In the final, he crossed the finish line in 23rd place, putting himself in a confident position.
With Rouven Wilk and Erik Müller, a strong duo took part in the DMSB Schalt-Kart-Cup. In the preliminary heats, the two Mach1 representatives stepped up their game and kept the traditional manufacturer’s flags high. With ninth place for Erik and tenth place for Rouven in the Super Heat, both were on course for the top ten. However, neither had any luck in the final race – failures cost them any hope of continued good results.
In the premier class – the DKM – Linus Hensen celebrated his premiere with a guest start. Last year he was successful in the DSKC, but the North German has now proven his skills in the highest ranking category. And Linus managed that brilliantly: he made a strong debut, finishing eighth in qualifying and ninth in the interim standings. Linus ultimately carried his top performance through to the final and held his own there as well, finishing in a great ninth place.
Despite some bad luck at the weekend, the DKM final was a good place for Mach1 boss Martin Hetschel: “In the last few days we have once again measured ourselves at the highest level and underlined our good pace. We were able to fight for top positions in both the DSKC and the DKM. Linus’ performance at his premiere in particular set an example. This can continue next season. Ben also gave us a lot of fun with the X30 Junior, he is ready for the next step.”
After the season is before the season. True to this motto, Mach1 Motorsport will soon begin preparing for the upcoming racing events in 2025. The next highlight will be the Mach1 Track Days on November 2nd and 3rd in Liedolsheim, where Mach1 will present its new kart models for 2025 and test drives will be possible.
