E1 Challenge announcement

Following you will find a letter from our Turkey importer regarding a very interesting endurance karting series which will be held on several tracks in Europe.

Dear Karting Enthusiasts,

We as Mach1 and Rotax distributor of Turkey have planned a new endurance championship open to teams and drivers from all around the world. We have been doing the endurance races and national endurance series since 2005 in our country. We gathered all our sporting, technical, marketing and operational expertise for this new challenge that we called E1 CHALLENGE.

Now the registration is open. You can visit the official website of the E1 Challenge (www.ekec.org or www.e1challenge.org) for detailed information. As a résumé the challenge will consist of 5 races all in Europe’s selected tracks. The karts, the engines, the tires, the fuel, etc will be provided by the organization. The karts will be Mach1 Kart FIA5. The engines will be Rotax 125 Junior Max Evo. The mechanical service will be done centrally by Mach1 Team. Our headquarter is in Istanbul but our technical center will be based in Germany.

The E1 Challenge offers you easiness, economy, equality and extra fun. Easy, because you don’t have to deal with karts, engines, spare parts, tires, etc. Economic, because for a team of 4 drivers an expenditure of 4.750 €/driver/season will be enough. Equal, because everybody will be using the same chassis, the same engine, the same tires, etc. Extra fun, because you will be racing with a real racing kart (Mach1 FIA5) equipped with a real racing engine (Rotax 125 Junior Max Evo) and Mychron5. Plus all races will be done in some of the best karting circuits in Europe. All you have to do is to take your racing suit and helmet, travel to the next racing location and Enjoy Racing.

We hope that you will like the E1 Challenge and you will participate. You can find the online registration form at the website.

If you have any questions and comments, please do not hesitate to contact us.

ENJOY RACING.

Sincerely,

Ali Ertugrul Ersin

Exciting DKM weekend for Mach1 Motorsport

German chassis manufacturer Mach1 Motorsport started at the third event of the German Kart Championship in Ampfing last weekend. The drivers experienced diversified races under changing weather conditions. Unfortunately numerous incidents stopped a successful outcome.

Another highlight awaited Mach1 Motorsport before their summer break. The ranked races five and six of the German Shifterkart Championship took place on the Schweppermannring in Ampfing. The German kart manufacturer Mach1’s team started with six drivers from four nations. While the sun was shining in huge parts of Germany, the weather in Ampfing was of a mixed nature. On Sunday morning the first final races took place in the rain.

During qualifying and the heats on Saturday the 1.060m long track was still dry though. Fastest driver of the team was Irish John Norris, who qualified for the finals by ending up on 15th place. He was then stopped due to a defective clutch during the first race though. From the back of the field he then fought his way forward during the second race and ended up on the good 17th place, which still gained him one championship point.

Pole Pawel Myskier celebrated a successful team debut. He achieved a direct ticket to the finals by ending up on 27th place, even though he had to deal with a falling out during one of the heats. On the wet track he then drove as if unleashed during the first race. Coming in 11th he just barely missed placing in the top ten. He was aiming for points during the second race as well but was stopped by an erratic axle in the end. He was able to limit the damages a little by coming in 21st. On the overall list of rankings he climbed from 16th to 13th place after his switch to Mach1 Kart.

Kart returnee Thomas Neumann was present in the ranked races as well. He achieved his qualification by coming in third at the repechage but unfortunately had to drop out of the first race prematurely. From the back of the field he drove in the wind shadow of his team mate John Norris during the second race and came in on the good 20th place.

Marcel Schultheiß and Marco Forrer weren’t able to qualify for the final races, both of them had to forfeit prematurely after the repechage. Even though his drivers’ yield was low in the end, Martin Hetschel still found positive words about the weekend in Ampfing: “Unfortunately this result doesn’t reflect our possibilities. Our material’s speed is right – Pawel and John could have ended up in the top ten. Little things prevented good results in the end though. We’ll now take our summer break and are going to prepare for the next races meticulously.”

The next races are going to take place from September 5th – 6th at the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Before that, Mach1 Kart is also going to start at the ADAC Kart Masters in Kerpen.

Mach1 Kart presents new chassis – New homologation until 2020

At the end of the year 2014, Mach1 Kart was able to look back on a successful season and is already working on the continuation of this in the future. In addition to a new chassis called Mach1 FIA5, the Swabians presented a brand-new brake system for the shifterkart classes and numerous detail improvements regarding the attachment parts.

The year 2014 has been a good one for the German chassis manufacturer. The team from Meimsheim was able to impress nationally as well as internationally and celebrated a huge success due to the X30 Shifter overall victory at the X30 International Final in Le Mans. Additionally, they achieved second place at the KZ2 EM-run in Wackersdorf. At the German Shifterkart Championship, the team drove in the forefront as well.

Mach1 Kart wants to grow further next season and is creating the basis for this with the newly homologated chassis FIA5 A01. The model was developed completely new with help of modern computer simulation and has been optimized during numerous test drives. It has got an even better handling than its forerunner – also new are CNC-routed aluminum pedals and lighter cover parts.

After first test drives Martin Hetschel was excited about the performance: “A really great chassis. The kart is even easier to drive and provides a high precision on varying grip conditions.”
